The fourth Starmus Festival will take place June 18–23, 2017, in Trondheim, Norway.
Starmus IV is about to begin! With each iteration, the Festival becomes larger. This year’s event will no doubt be the largest and most spectacular yet.
I will be involved in so many things this year that I have a schedule to keep them straight:
On Sunday, June 18, I will be hosting the first day of the Festival. I will introduce a stellar array of speakers, including Harrison Schmitt, Stefan Hell, Michel Mayor, Sandra Magnus, Sara Seager, Lynn Rothschild, David Zambuka, and Steve Vai.
On Monday, June 19, I will be joining a panel created by Kaspersky Software to discuss the future of Earth in 2030, 2040, and 2050. This will take place in the morning. Similarly, I am contributing a short video for Kaspersky’s project on the “Sounds of Safety” that will be presented during the Festival.
On Tuesday, June 20, at 1 p.m., I will deliver a talk — “Galaxies: Inside the Universe’s Star Cities” — in Spectrum Hall A, for the Science Camp.
On Friday, June 23, at 12:30 p.m., I will again deliver my talk — “Galaxies: Inside the Universe’s Star Cities” — in Spectrum Hall A, for the Science Camp.
This will be a very busy and exciting week. I hope to see many of you there.
Among the guests this year will be a who’s who in astronomy, the sciences, and the arts.
