Gina Gershon will appear in a guest role on “Empire,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Gershon will play Helene Von Wyeth, the founder of her own fashion label, who partners with Empire for her annual fashion show. Described as imperious, demanding, tough and uncompromising, her one weak spot is her 8-year-old daughter, Regan.

She will appear in the eighth episode this season. The airdate will depend on the World Series.

Gershon joins a list of guest stars who have appeared in Season 3, including Mariah Carey, Sierra McClain and Birdman. French Montana has also guest-starred this season, and insiders say the rapper will be back for more episodes coming up. Taye Diggs is recurring as a budding love interest for Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), and Phylicia Rashad will be guesting as his on-screen mother.

Gershon recently wrapped Season 2 of Amazon’s “Red Oaks.” She is currently filming the film “Inconceivable” from Emmett/Furla and Lionsgate, alongside Nicolas Cage. Next up, she will be seen in “Permission,” opposite Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens. She is repped by APA and Untitled Entertainment.
