Adam Sandler guest stars this week on Kevin James’ CBS sitcom. The duo has worked together in many comedy films, including “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” and the “Grown Ups” movies. Fun fact: Sandler guest starred on James’ former CBS sitcom, “The King of Queens.”
“Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party,” VH1, Monday, 10 p.m.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are hosting a weekly talk show together. Need we say more?
“SNL Election Special,” NBC, Monday, 10 p.m.
If you haven’t gotten enough of Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon this season, you’re in for a treat with an hourlong 2016 election special, highlighting the best sketches from “Saturday Night Live” that have poked fun at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Election Coverage, Tuesday
Every news organization will dedicate Tuesday’s broadcasts to back-to-back-to-back coverage of the presidential election. Stephen Colbert is also having a live election night special on Showtime (8 p.m.), and “The View” is even hosting a primetime election special on Lifetime (9 p.m.). And then there’s the question of which network will be the first to call the election and name the future president of the United States.
“Superstore,” NBC, Thursday, 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (CRITICS PICK)
This enjoyable and subversive gem might not get the hype it deserves, but it’s doing a fine job of helping rebuild NBC’s comedy brand. America Ferrera and Ben Feldman give pitch-perfect performances as the dual leads, and the rest of the ensemble is full of delightfully specific characters; it’s easily one of the best workplace comedies around at the moment. And this week, it’s offering a special of sorts: “Superstore” is doubling down on holiday episodes. In the first of two episodes, the end-of-year rush is so overwhelming that the staff has to bring a bunch of temps on board, which causes chaos (well, more chaos). In the second installment, the Cloud 9 team attempts to survive the bedlam that is Black Friday, despite the fact that many of them are also battling a bout of food poisoning.
