The Met Gala has just been and gone and the red carpet left little to the imagination. Dresses were barely there and décolletage was certainly out there heralding the return of full-throttle cleavage.

In honour of the décolletage, we took a walk down memory lane to clock some of the milestones in the big reveal.

Here, are my tips for the ultimate décolletage prep. Remember, your face ends at your boobs so whatever you are using in your facial skin care routine, extend it down your neck to the beginning of your nipples.

For starters use an amino acid-rich body wash to help reduce inflammation in your skin. Try Darphin Aromatic Seaweed Bath and Shower Gel
.

Twice a week after cleansing use a gentle exfoliator like Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.

The skin on the neck and chest is quite fine so it is very susceptible to sun damage. Again use a dedicated moisturiser with an SPF of 50 on your face, neck and chest. We love Ultra UV Protective Daily Shield Mineral Defence SPF 50+.

Next, use a firming serum working it from the centre of your chest in an upward and outward motion. Try La Mer The Lifting Contour Serum.

To give the cleavage an instant boost, try a luminous body oil. One of our all-time favourites is Nars Monoi Body Glow with its delicious scent and subtle shimmer.

Use a golden bronzing powder to help even out skin tone. Apply it all over the décolletage with a generous brush.

Before bed, use an exfoliating peel pad to get rid of the day's grime. This will help brighten the skin too.

Breast health is also vital so give yourself and at-home breast check once a month to check for any irregularities.
