Live US PGA 2016: Jason Day chases history

Golf delivers again

For those that claim golf is a boring spectator sport, these past Majors have given the appropriate response.

The tussle between golf's best players has now given us four maiden Major winners this season.

Australia's Jason Day may not have been able to reel in Jimmy Walker today, but he remains the world No.1.

Another day, another great battle on the golf course.

That's all from me. Thanks for joining me for a brilliant US PGA Championship.

Until next time,

Jamie out.

What a finish that was.

Jason Day, looking out for the count coming into the 18th, makes an eagle with one of the best putts you'll see on a golf course.

Jimmy Walker then finds the rough on his approach to the 18th green, but comes back to get himself a simple par putt for the Championship.

It means another first-time Major winner this season, with Danny Willet, Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and now Walker all winning this season.

Agonising for Day, but the world No. 1 was just not good enough to claw back the shots from Walker.

Jimmy Walker wins

American Jimmy Walker has won the US PGA Championship by one shot from Jason Day.

He made the 2 feet, 11 inch putt for par on the 18th to win his maiden Major at the age of 37.

Walker misses the birdie putt from 33 feet.

But he's in good stead to make the par putt and win the US PGA Championship.

Here we go.

Walker to putt for the win

Here's the run down:

Jason Day is on -13.

Jimmy Walker is on -14, and has two putts on the 18th to make par.

Walker in serious rough. He needs to get this on the green.

He chips well past the hole but he's on the green and a two-putt for par is on here.

It would take a mammoth error for Walker to lose this one.

Walker goes into the rough on his approach shot.

He's near the spectators after two.

Jimmy is in an exceptional difficult spot.

Percentage golf needed here. It's a par 5 so he has the shots to make the green and salvage par.

But a slip up here could be fatal.

Jason Day makes eagle

Jason Day has made the miracle putt at the 18th. It's an eagle and he's just one behind Jimmy Walker.

Walker just needs par at the 18th but will the pressure get to him. Walker has never won a Major.

Here we go.

That Walker putt at 17.
