It has its star stock-pickers and star bankers, but the world of big business and high finance doesn’t often feature a genuine, undeniably A-list Hollywood star, much less one that is about to show them all how it’s done. Wall Street, however, is about to roll out the red carpet for Jessica Alba.

The actress and, more pertinently, businesswoman is understood to be in talks to sell the household goods and baby business that she founded seven years ago to Unilever for more than $1 billion.

Such a sum would dwarf the fees that Alba, 35, can charge for a movie role, no matter a filmography that includes hits such as Sin City, in 2005, and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,
