Bergen-based Viken Shipping logged a pre-tax profit of $21.6m last year.
Total revenue at the group was $182.4m, but company chairman Hans Olav Lindal stresses that this is not ordinary group results and its proforma accounts that highlight its activities.
The total equity in the companies set up by shipowner Tom Steckmest is $225m. Fifteen of the 17 ships are tankers that all boast employment for several years.
