IN THEATERS Friday, Feb. 10

“The Lego Batman Movie”: The toy superhero faces a challenge even more difficult than villains: raising a kid. PG

“Fifty Shades Darker”: Would it be too much to hope it’ll be a shade or two better than the awkwardly unsexy potboiler that preceded it? R

“John Wick: Chapter 2”: Keanu Reeves returns in a sequel to the surprisingly engaging action drama. This time, he must evade a canny bounty hunter. R

“The Red Turtle”: An unnamed man finds himself on an island that’s deserted, unless you count the flora and fauna who befriend him in the dialogue-free nominee for this year’s animated feature Academy Award. PG

Oscar-nominated Short Films: There are always gems in these collections of documentary, animated and live-action shorts. Not rated

ON HOME VIDEO Tuesday, Feb. 7

“Loving”: One of last year’s finest movies, it’s the subtle but deeply moving story of Richard and Mildred Loving, whose need to have their interracial marriage recognized in the ’50s took them all the way to the Supreme Court. PG-13 ***½

“Trolls”: The animated comedy is fine, but don’t expect any surprises. PG **

“The Eagle Huntress”:Some scenes of this “documentary” feel staged but the story of a Kazakh girl’s fight for recognition of her hunting skills is quite inspiring. G ***

“Almost Christmas”: Talented people, including Mo’nique, Gladys Knight and J.B. Smoove, are wasted in a drab, Thanksgiving-themed comedy. PG-13 **
