Boston is one of the most expensive cities in the world to buy a beer
Grabbing a beer in Boston costs a pretty penny, according to data collected by Deutsche Bank.
Business Insider shared a list created by Deutsche analysts that shows how much it costs to get a beer in 47 cities around the world. While a few cities like Prague ($1.30), Johannesburg ($1.70), and Lisbon, Portugal ($2.00) offer beer that costs two dollars or less on average, Boston ranked fifth overall, averaging $7.20 for a pint, according to the Deutsche analysis.
The three most expensive cities on the list are Oslo, Norway ($9.90), Singapore ($9.00), and Hong Kong ($7.70).
Among the four American cities included in the report, Boston was the second-most expensive, behind New York City ($7.40), but ahead of San Francisco ($6.20) and Chicago ($5.30).
